Sewoon Shopping Center (世運商街)
A residential-commercial building located at 159 Cheonggyecheon-ro (Jangsa-dong), Jongno-gu, Seoul. To be precise, it is the first residential-commercial apartment building in Korea as the name of the entire residential and commercial complex that connects Jongno 3-ga and Toegye-ro 3-ga.[2]
It is said that the name Sewoon Sangga was coined with the meaning of "The world's energy gathers here", the mayor of Seoul Mayor Kim Hyun-ok, a bulldozer at the time. Wonkiok is a super-large residential and commercial complex with a length of about 1km[3] adjacent to Jongno 3-ga Station at the northernmost end and Chungmuro Station at the southernmost end. Shinseong and Jinyang shopping centers were built one after another.
At first, it was a building where luxury residential apartments and shopping centers coexisted, but since the 1960s, this neighborhood was a neighborhood where businesses that repaired and sold various antiques removed from the US military base were located. It has become a mecca of various electronic products including. Since then, as the development of Gangnam took place rapidly, the merit as a residential area disappeared. Eventually, the upper apartments were converted into workshops for technicians, effectively turning into a shopping mall.
