효원공원 월화원 孝園公園 粤華苑
.
It is a traditional Chinese garden of 1,820 pyeong in Hyowon Park, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Opened on April 17, 2006, the garden was built by Chinese workers to revive the traditional architectural style of Guangdong.
It is a Chinese-style garden built in the west of Hyowon Park in Guangdong, China. It is designed to harmonize the building and the garden, taking advantage of the traditional gardens of Guangdong. In accordance with the promise to build Korean and Chinese traditional gardens in the other cities in the contents of the'Execution Agreement on Friendship Exchange Development' signed by Gyeonggi-do and Guangdong Province in October 2003, the establishment began on June 15, 2005, and was established in 2006. It opened on April 17, 2007.
Like the Yeongnam Garden, a traditional garden in Guangdong Province, the outside garden can be seen through the windows of the building, and a gasan made of soil and an artificial lake are placed on the backing. Artificial waterfalls were built around the lake and pavilions were built in the form of boats. The buildings with Chinese poems and writings in various places were built according to the traditional architectural style of Guangdong, which connects blue bricks and trees with white powder. Wood, brick, and lime carving were used for the roof joint.
Built by more than 80 Chinese workers who came to Korea in June 2005, the garden measures 1820 pyeong (6,026㎡), and Guangdong was responsible for the construction cost of 3.4 billion won. In accordance with the agreement signed in October 2003, Haedong Gyeonggi Park was established in Weshiu Park [越秀公園] in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, Gyeonggi Province. Haedong Gyeonggiwon, which opened in December 2005, is modeled after the Korean traditional garden Soswaewon in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Walking around the artificial waterfall and the pavilion to the artificial lake, even the carp in the lake gives the impression of an ancient garden.
Wolhwawon is located at 1117 Ingye-dong, Suwon-si. It is convenient to think of it as inside Hyowon Park. Opening hours are from 9 am to 10 pm. Admission is free.
