Yangpyeong Dumulmeori Naru.
양평 두물머리
Also called Dumeori Naru, it was a ferry crossing from Dumulmeori Village in Yangsu-ri, Yangseo-myeon to Gwisil Village, Gwiyeo-ri, Namjong-myeon, Gwangju-si, and it was the estuary of the Namhan River. It is said that there were more than 30 boats when there were about 40 households living in the village.
However, Dumulmeori Naru was not a very advantageous location as a river port because the current was strong due to the nearby rapids, and the raft could not be built. Nevertheless, it is said that there were 4 or 5 taverns and horse rooms. This is because the Dumulmeori area was both a port of call for the Namhangang River and a key point on land.
The naru operated intermittently until the 1990s, but is now completely discontinued.
Naru located in Yangpyeong-gun. It is located on a small island between Ungilsan Station and Yangsu Station, where the Bukhan River and the Namhan River meet. In modern times, Yangsu Bridge and Shinyangsu Bridge have taken over and the role of naru has been lost, but it is an amusement park visited by many tourists.
In a broad sense, Dumulmeori refers to the entire island [1] located where two waterways meet, and is built like an amusement park with various photo zones. In addition, there are various things to enjoy, such as farms and cafes, and the lotus flowers blooming in summer are especially worth seeing. Ferry boats appear frequently in various promotional videos, but they are floating for landscaping purposes and are not actually operated, so it is better not to expect much.
As it is known through YouTubers, there are quite a few foreigners as well.
The lotus leaf hot dog is famous for its green color by adding lotus leaf powder to flour dough. The taste is the same as a regular hot dog, but the characteristic is that it has a mild grassy smell, and the advantage is that it has a high turnover rate, so you can eat a warm hot dog that just came out. The sausages inside are also bigger and thicker than the frankfurter sausages. Not in one place, but in several places, but the taste is subtly different.
